This example is a picture postcard, a format allowed in the post by 1894, and standardized in size in 1899. After 1902 cards started to have a vertical line dividing the address area from the that carrying the message. Post cards became a popular medium for exchanging pictures in the first two decades of the 20th century. The three ladies (sisters?) are similarly dressed in early Edwardian style.
