A thick gilt and bevelled edge cdv on matt card, a typical product of the first half of the 1890s.

Impressive image of a sea-faring officer on thick paper which is beginning to separate from the card, an indication of some version of a chromotype process. The gilt and chamfered edge again suggest it may come from the earlier part of the decade.
