It is not clear which of these came first. The second cdv carries a design which is close to that used at the later address (65 Sauchiehall st.), though simpler than that on the first. The first has the earlier looking image, and has been trimmed, presumably to fit into an album. The second shows a high key, vignetted portrait of a revd? gentleman with rather startlingly pale eyes. Early film stock was effectively orthochromatic, thus tending to cause blues and greens to appear light, and reds dark, so blue eyes sometimes gave this effect.
