The Rutherford brothers seem only to have been at this address the two years, though Ref. 3 has them there for a longer period. There is a tendency for this reference to give the total duration of operations of the persons, however, rather than the years spent at any one address. There was both a James and a John involved, but the initials J&R on this and on the card from Wellington street suggest that there was also a 'Robert?'
This card shows an early use of vignetting, and the reverse exhibits the first signs of the exhuberant filigree work that was to characterise the later years of the decade.
