Husband and wife portrait, in what is very much a re-creation of an early Victorian setting. The print is 9.7 x 13.6 cms, almost a standard size for the period, on a 17.8 x 25.1 card , not all of which is in view here. The wife gently places a possessive hand on her husband, who stares defiantly at the camera. Stewart arrived in Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline only in 1914 (Ref. 7), so this portrait could well be after this date.
