Perhaps he worked as a guest artist at one of the other photographic firms at this address, which is just discernable on these cabinet cards. From the style of these two products, both from the same location, and probably date, they would seem to be from the early or mid 1880s. J. Douglas and Son were at this address till 1883, and David Duiguid & Son from 1885 till 1886.
