Two poorly preserved portraits above, possibly from the earlier and middle years of the period. The design on the back of the first cdv would not be out of place in the late 1860s, though the fashion suggests a date closer to the 1880s.The son at this stage is presumed to have been William. It is notable that they describe themselves as artists, rather than photographers.
A thicker card suggests a later date, for the cdv above. The appearance of the fine filgree ornamentation usually occurred about 1880.
