T. Laing, 21 Argyle St., 1864 - 1868

Though similarly treated by an amateur colourist, and sharing the same studio background, the card for the first portrait is thinner than the second (0.016" compared with 0.023") suggesting that the first is the earlier. The coloured card below is intermediate in thickness. Laing is only recorded in Dunoon in 1867, but the likelyhood is that he was there longer than one year.
